Situated in North Karnataka, Manvi is a town located in Raichur district, Karnataka. With a population of 370,000, Schedule Caste (SC) and Dalits constitute 21.1% while Schedule Tribe (ST) are 24.1% of total population. Of the 180,000 adults, 80% receive employment for 6 Months or more while 20% are employed for less than 6 months, largely due to their caste identities. Education is the only opportunity for the next generation to break through these caste barriers in these communities.
