Sunbird Trust seeks to build peace and harmony by engaging with communities in the conflict zone through educating and empowering underprivileged children.
Accomplishments (Sponsor and Support)
- 8 schools and 9 hostels in remote parts of Manipur, Nagaland, Meghalaya and Assam
- 6,600 children in 58 partner institutions in 7 North East Indian States
- Nutrition Scheme for 600 underprivileged children.
- Four computer centers and 5 libraries in remote school locations.
- 250 graduate and post graduate students (including boarding) in Engineering, Law, Agriculture, Arts, Science and Social Work streams.
- 49 Graduate Alumni (Doctor, Lawyers, Engineers, MSW, MBA and Hotel Management)
- 14 Sunbird Graduate alumni are now a part of the Sunbird team
Plans for 2022
- Raising 3 schools (Capital Budget: USD 50,000 per school up to Class VII)
- Building 5 hostels (Capital Budget: USD 45,000 per hostel for 50 children)
- Sponsoring 5,000 children education (Operating Budget: USD 320,000 @ US$ 64 per child per year)
- Sponsoring 500 children’s boarding (USD $ 160,000 @ US $ 320 per child per year)
